Quite timely to our conversation about NFP, there is a new vatican document, Dignitas Personae, On the Dignity of the Person, which addresses life and reproductive issues including the Morning After Pill. There is a brief article in todays New York Times, and lots more to read all over the 'net, here is one place to start. Read up, ladies, I'm sure your friends will be asking you about it!

Great document, though I was surprised by the new teaching on embryo adoption. Well, not the teaching exactly, but the lack of explanation. Embryo adoption has been THE hot topic in Catholic bioethics the last several years with lots of interesting arguments on both sides of the issue. I was surprised the Church didn't provide a more expansive explanation of why it is illicit in its first official teaching on the issue.
